Beginning in February, students throughout Quebec began protesting against a proposed 75 percent hike in the cost of their tuition. Quebec’s government responded by passing a controversial emergency law that places strict limits on free assembly, requiring demonstrators to submit protest plans and receive police approval. Reacting to the new law, hundreds of thousands more took to the streets to join the broadening protest. Thanks to Andrew for this awesome submission.

Over in Brussels 8 gunmen have made off with 50 million dollars worth of rough cut diamonds stolen from the cargo of a plane bound for Switzerland. The only “evidence” police have discovered is a burned up van. They believe it was set on fire to destroy fingerprints and other trace evidence. Police have no leads as the manhunt for 8 masked men continues.

Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara set the world record for biggest wave ever ridden back in November 2011, when he tamed a 78-foot monster. McNamara reportedly broke his own record by riding this 100-foot wave on Monday in Nazaré, Portugal:



Extraordinary video has been captured showing a five-metre Great White shark attacking a small boat at the weekend. “I filmed it all on my GoPro, the first half just by holding it by my hand, then sh*t myself after it got to close and put it on a pole”. “It chewed on a moving propeller like a boss and didn’t give a f**K about anything!! The Australian Queensland coast is currently being battered by heavy rain and crazy winds that are churning up big seas and foam in some areas along the coast. This video shows a man climbing on stage where Ahmed Dogan, the leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms was speaking in Bulgaria. The man then points a gas pistol, which are not lethal but can cause serious injuries if fired at close range, at Dogan’s face. This amazing teacher rushed 15 small children into the bathroom as shots rang out. She told students that they had to remain absolutely quiet fearing that the gunman may hear them and begin shooting the bathroom door. She told students, “There are bad guys out there now, we need to wait for the good guys.” Somebody give them woman a medal.

Twenty-seven people, including 20 children, were killed when a gunman clad in black military gear opened fire inside his mother’s kindergarten class at a Connecticut elementary school. The shooter, who sources identified as Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother, Nancy Lanza, in the face at their home in Newtown, Conn., then went to nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School where she taught and gunned down her entire class, according to sources. Lanza was found dead inside the school, according to officials. Eighteen of the children and six more adults were dead at the school and two more children died later, according to Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance. An official with knowledge of the situation said the shooter was armed with a .223-caliber rifle. Four weapons in total were recovered from the scene. The motive is not yet known.
