Catch

A fan makes a fantastic one-handed catch on Kevin Pillar’s foul ball while holding his daughter in his other arm. The guy needs to frame an iPad constantly playing this video in his home. Very rarely is the smoothest moment of your life caught on national television.

Fitness model Brittany Renner blew up the internet last month when she went to play soccer by herself at the park. Perhaps inspired by Copa America and the European Championships, she’s back at the same field. And we should all thank the gods for this life changing footage. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

This year William Trubridge set an incredible 16th World Record. This record setting dive in free immersion (FIM) saw him descend 122m into Deans Blue Hole and back in four minutes and 24 seconds time – at the #VB2016, an elite freediving competition he hosts annually. Mind blowing footage.

Growing up on the North Shore sure has its perks. Take recently turned 15-year-old Wyatt McHale for example, Wyatt knows he’s fortunate to be raised on the most famous stretch of surf on the globe, but is also humbled by the opportunity and doesn’t take it for granted. Before getting island fever, Wyatt strives to get out and see the world.

The beginning of the video gives us a fly-through of exactly what the hole looks like. You can’t see the pin, as its tucked behind some trees. Philo Brathwaite threw perfectly around this blind corner and nailed it. Someone call Nike and get this guy a deal!

This isn’t your usual Red Bull fare. Part of the Raw 100 series – where film makers are given three rules: The rules for each video are simple: 100 seconds in length, no slow motion footage, and no music. By having to work within these limitations, filmmakers have to shake up the box and put their creativity on blast. In creating this latest addition to the Raw 100 series produced by Rupert Walker, Brandon Semenuk pointed it south to California from his home in Canada to breathe new life into an old Downhill BMX track that hasn’t been used since the discipline was an X Games event in the early 2000s. Prepare to be amazed!

“This year I was able to spend an amazing two month trip to Brisbane Australia constantly filming Alex throwing down on spots everywhere we went. We even took a road trip across Australia to Sydney. Alex is the most fearless and toughest person I have ever met. To see him take his insane park riding we all know him for and take it to the streets was legendary! I couldn’t be more hyped to document it. With all that said I’m so happy to announce This is Alex Hiam for Vans.” – Dave Pendleton

James Foster feeds off progression and pushes riding to the limits. He splits time between traveling the world with Nitro Circus, riding big contests and filming first-time tricks on custom ramps. Just like the insanity you’re about to witness at Pastrana Land.

Mark Wahlberg has more money than he knows what to do with. Last year alone, he earned a cool $32 million. Wahlberg also enjoys golf a great deal. So, to put his money to good use, Wahlberg hired Back Nine Greens to build a golf paradise in his backyard, complete with white-sand bunkers and an elevated green. The practice facility is made from artificial turf, so maintenance isn’t an issue. It also looks incredibly real! Hit the jump for some other tiny courses the company has done to backyards.

X Games Austin is officially done and dusted but we’re re-living some of the highlights thanks to the Monster Energy / Dirt Shark crew. From rain to shine, the weekend was huge and packed with all the greatness we’ve come to expect from this annual summer event.

CapeCape2

After two days of intense action, Red Bull Cape Fear has come to a close for 2016, with 18-year-old South Coast surfer Russell Bierke the last man standing. The event ran like no other in surfing history. A week of wild weather in Sydney Australia saw Cape Solander maxed out on day one, with many competitors claiming it was far-and-away the biggest the infamous break has ever been surfed. The surfers were aware of the risks that came with paddling out, yet deemed it worth the reward. A unanimous surfer vote saw the contest kick-off in barely surfable 12-foot [3.66m] barrels and from the first horn all 16 invitees were ready to charge, take risks, pull in and lay it all on the line.
