Aitch pays homage to Manchester with fresh single and video “1989”

UK rapper Aitch has shared a fresh new release called “1989”, ahead of his debut album Close to Home, which was announced earlier this week. Built on the irresistible hook from The Stone Roses’ iconic single “Fools Gold”, “1989” is a clever juxtaposition of two prominent musical eras, a bridge joining Manchester old and new, and a twin celebration of the city’s past and future. On “1989”, Aitch combines the undeniable groove of the legendary Manchester anthem with his charismatic bars and sharp wordplay. Accompanied by a refreshingly fun-loving music video shot on the streets of his home city by UK creative Kelvin Jones, “1989” makes for a charming, witty offering.
