Hurricane Florence whipped up 83-foot high waves as it steam rolls towards the United States, but it’s the 13-foot high, catastrophic Storm Surge that has everyone freaking out!

The rain turned sideways, rivers swelled and floodwaters began to fill streets, as massive Hurricane Florence trudged toward North Carolina. Florence is now a Category 1 storm with a 13-foot storm surge, according to the National Weather Service. “With this storm, it’s a (Category 1) but the storm surge and the flooding is going to be that of a category 4,” said CNN Meteorologist Jennifer Gray.
