Video: Berkeley, long a hotbed of political protest, emerges again as a flashpoint in the Trump era as a white supremacist thug is captured cracking a woman in the face!
Why Berkeley? For one thing, the city, along with Oakland and San Francisco, has a long-established protest culture. The UC Berkeley campus is famously known as the home of the Free Speech Movement. So when pro-Trump forces decided to rally there, plenty of counter-protesters were at the ready to respond. Twenty-one people were arrested, including some on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Eleven people were injured with at least six taken to a hospital for treatment, including one stabbing victim. Police confiscated knives, stun guns and poles.
Nathan Damigo (seen above) of white nationalist group Identity Europa was allegedly identified by multiple witnesses as the man seen in the footage below lunging at an unsuspecting woman with dreadlocks and viciously punching her before she had a chance to react. Nathan Damigo is also allegedly a student at CSU Stanislaus in Turlock, CA. He spent 5 years in prison for carrying out a violent hate crime and has been documented putting up neo-Nazi stickers at his college.
