Mules, named Dipsey Doodle and Smokey are made to high dive 22 feet from a platform into a six foot pool at the “All-American High Diving Aqua Mules” show in Pipe Creek, Texas.

Crowds come and pay six bucks per person to watch and laugh at the spectacle. The show’s owner, Bill Rivers thinks the mules love it. “All I can say, you know, is what’s wrong with a mule diving in a pool on a hot day? I mean it sounds pretty good to me,” Bill says.

On one of the practice runs, Bill is heard yelling “yee haw” as Smokey hits the “pool”. No joke, I only thought people said that phrase in old western movies, or maybe in the bedroom after a bottle of whiskey. Police have ruled that the show isn’t harming the animals and is legal. I can think of better ways to spend $6, but it’s obvious some people like this kind of entertainment.

But there are people who don’t like it at all. Animals.Change.org has started a petition to have the show stopped.

If by chance you’ve read any news or listened to anyone talk about anything you know that Charles Taylor, the American-educated, former president of Liberia, is on trial at the Hague for war crimes.

Primarily people are taking note because model Naomi Campbell and actress Mia Farrow offered up contradictory testimony as to the nature of the former president’s awkward generosity—mostly related to the giving and receiving of blood diamonds.

Andy Capper, editor of Vice UK and VBS producer, traveled to the Hague to report on the goings-on when he recalled that during his excursion into the bowels of Liberian ghettos for the Vice Guide to Liberia he’d conducted an interview with Charles Taylor Jr that was left on the cutting-room floor.

Jr is a rapper, aka Bentman, and his mother and Sr are no longer married. Andy thought we should pull the piece out of mothballs and revisit it.

Computer studies of ocean floors around the world, particularly the area known as The Bermuda Triangle, reveal evidence of massive methane explosions in the past. For years, believers in the paranormal, aliens, and other outlandish theories pointed to the the disappearance of ships and aircraft as an indicator of mysterious forces at work in the “Devil’s triangle.” Scientists have finally pointed the rest of us to a more plausible cause.

The presence of methane hydrates indicates enormous eruptions of methane bubbles that would swamp a ship, and projected high into the air- take out flying airplanes, as well.

Any ships caught within the methane mega-bubble immediately lose all buoyancy and sink to the bottom of the ocean. If the bubbles are big enough and possess a high enough density they can also knock aircraft out of the sky with little or no warning. Aircraft falling victim to these methane bubbles will lose their engines-perhaps igniting the methane surrounding them-and immediately lose their lift as well, ending their flights by diving into the ocean and swiftly plummeting.

Two masked robbers that targeted an internet gaming center in Kaneohe Wednesday night never expected their victims to fight back. But they did and it was all caught on video.

This isn’t something police encourage but the gamers say they were protecting their home.

It is just before midnight on Wednesday. Devin Wolery is sitting at the counter at PC Gamerz in Kaneohe watching over his nine customers when two masked men walk in.

“They came in and they started yelling at me like they had a problem with me,” said Wolery.

As you may or may not have heard, large chunks of Russia are presently being consumed by wildfires. Here’s footage of what wildfires looks like from the backseat of a car bolting for dear life from the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast village of Tamboles.

Several regions in western and central Russia have declared a state of emergency as forest fires are sweeping over 500 miles of land. More than 1,000 homes have been destroyed and 30 people have tragically lost their lives as Russian authorities scramble to contain the spread.

Cynics may dismiss it as just a piece of driftwood or a trick of the light. But a photograph showing what appears to be a long necked sea creature has got marine experts scratching their heads. The ‘animal’ was snapped stalking a shoal of fish just 30 yards off the British coast. The fish were apparently so terrified they beached themselves just seconds later.

The creature was spotted off the Devon coast at Saltern Cove, Paignton, by locals who reported a sighting of what they thought was a turtle. But pictures taken by one of the baffled witnesses, Gill Pearce, reveal the neck of the greenish-brown beast with the reptile-like head is far too long for it to be a turtle. ‘She spotted it following a shoal of fish which beached themselves in Saltern Cove.

‘The creature remained in the sea, then went out again and followed the shoal – this indicates it’s not a turtle as they only eat jellyfish. ‘We would love to know if other people have seen anything like this in the same area and can help clear up the mystery.’

Some people think the sea sighting could be linked to that of a sperm whale sighted off south Devon recently but Miss Fischer dismissed that explanation. ‘They [sperm whales] wouldn’t come that close inshore and the reptilian-like head counts that out – at least that’s what the experts are saying.’ The sighting has caused a stir on the MCS website too, where theories range from sea serpent to salt water crocodile.
