Video: Art dealer and TV presenter Philip Mould stripped away 200 years of yellowing varnish on a Jacobean era oil painting to reveal its true beauty!

Varnish is used to preserve and protect paintings, but over time it will turn yellow. This painting was done in 1618, and we get to see what the artwork looked like in its original splendor. “We don’t know the identity yet but certain iconographic clues are staring to emerge,” said Philip. “All we know is she is 36 and it was painted 1617.”
