Ben Grillo – Micro Tattoos

Check out these insane micro tattoos by artist Ben Grillo! These have got to be some of the world’s smallest and most detailed pieces I have ever seen. To check out more of his work click here to visit his myspace page. Read below as he talks about the amazing little tattoos and then hit the jump for heaps of photos and a video.
“Here is the deal with the “micro” tattoos. (or as much as i know about them) First off, i don’t recommend getting portraits of people on the FINGERS unless your have fingers the size of a babies arm.
They can be done however, they aren’t going to look sharp forever just like any tattoo. The skin regenerates itself over and over, eventually blurring the lines. The more simple things such as roses, crosses, letters, blah blah blah.. are better subject matter to get in my opinion.
The way i tattoo them with a very narrow line and other “tricks” will hopefully hold up over the years but don’t expect it to look the same fifteen years from the time you got it. I can’t tell you how long they last (as far as looking good and crisp) because i have only been doing them for a couple years.
I have seen some of Jack Rudy’s stuff from waaay back and it looked old but still very good. Doing the small stuff on regular skin such as an arm, leg or whatever, will hold up alot longer than a finger. Just something to think about before you get your fingers gloved up. And no, i can’t do the last supper on the eye lids.”
