Shock Mansion: Hey mate, cheers for your time, how are you today?

Frankie: Doing good…

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: We wanted to start off by talking about a passion that we both share…fast cars! We heard that you sold a lot of your collection, what made you do that?

Frankie: Basically I was just “over” owning a lot of cars. I’ve been making my life more simple all around…downsizing my car collection being part of it. As cool as it was to own so many amazing cars, it was always a big hassle. I was very compulsive when it came to car buying – that was a big problem, haha!

Shock Mansion: In 2008 your progress skyrocketed to new heights by finishing in the top-10 spot in 3 races! That’s got to be a major hint that you are really onto something in the racing world. Where do you feel more nerves, on set or on track?

Frankie: Yes, I’ve continued to progress… one thing that people don’t realize is that I’ve only been racing for a few years now… and I’m racing against the top drivers in the world who have been doing this since they were 5, 6, 7 yrs old. It’s like a person who’s never played basketball being thrown into the NBA. So with that said, I’m thrilled with my progression as a race car driver, and still eager to continue to improve and learn. The nerves are felt more on the track, there’s much more pressure on me personally – you don’t get a another chance, there’s no 2nd take.

Shock Mansion: You’re currently racing for Team Stargate Worlds on the Atlantic Championship. That sounds amazing dude, what originally got you so interested in racing?

Frankie: Yes, I’m honored to be racing for Team Stargate Worlds. I’m looking forward to the video game’s release soon (www.stargateworlds.com). I’ve always been a huge racing fan, but I got to do the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach Pro Celebrity Race in 2005 – I was immediately hooked after racing and winning in that.

Shock Mansion: What’s your training regime like when you’re leading up to race day?

Frankie: I train every single day to make sure I’m in proper shape to drive the race car. It’s one of the most physically demanding sports in the world. A week prior to the race, I discuss the race plan with my driver coach and engineer to get in the right mindset. Other than that, I just try to relax… racing is very mental, so it’s important to have a clear state of mind when going into a race weekend.

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: So when it comes time for you to go back to making movies, could we expect something race themed?

Frankie: Right now, I’m 100% focused on racing. I’m not sure if acting with be a part of my future, but you never know!

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: It’s fairly obvious you’ve got a heavy right foot, how fast have you actually driven, on or off the track?

Frankie: I’ve hit speeds of up to 180 mph on the track.

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: We’ve seen a few photos that look like you have some ink work on your arms. Can you tell us what your tattoos are?

Frankie: I have the word “ZERO” and checkered flags that say “Please Keep Me Very Safe” on my forearm. “ZERO” stands for my zero tolerance to alcohol and drugs, a lifestyle I’ve chosen for myself, and the other tattoo is self explanatory. Ha. I also have an owl on my upper back.

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: What do you do to get in the right mind state before a race? Any particular music that puts you in the mood?

Frankie: I’m very superstitious with which glove I put on first and what side of the car I get in on, so that’s a must! “Sex on Fire” by Kings of Leon is a song I’ve been listening to this year, gets me pumped.

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: Atomic war breaks out on earth, what are the top three things on you’re to do list before we all vaporize?

Frankie: That’s a tough one… my top three things involve my girlfriend, need I say more?

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: Have you ever traveled to Australia?

Frankie: Yes, Sydney is my favorite city in the whole world…I’d love to move there actually!!

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: Ever had Vegemite? Want us to send you some?

Frankie: I know Vegemite is ‘the thing’ to eat in Australia, but to be honest, it scares the shit out of me.

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: If you were homeless, what would your cardboard sign have written on it?

Frankie: “Will drive get away vehicle for food”

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: What do you do for fun when you’re not sitting behind a steering wheel?

Frankie: I like to play golf, basketball, and soccer. My girlfriend and I love to go to movies, BBQ, dinner with friends – all the typical domestic stuff.

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: Three of us have just robbed a bank, and you’re in charge of the get away vehicle. What did you bring along? Keeping in mind we have 3 duffle bags full of cash as well!

Frankie: The Black Series CLK63. It’s a perfect car as far as performance is concerned, and it has trunk space. Also, not too flashy so the police wouldn’t spot it as quickly :)

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: Where is the most memorable place in the world you have traveled to and why?

Frankie: I recently traveled to Monaco to compete in the 6 hour kart race, which was on half of the Formula 1 track – it was a really cool experience!

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: What in store for you in 2010?

Frankie: I may being racing in Asian GP2 and European GP2, but I’m keeping my options open, so we’ll see!

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: Where can people follow your race progress?

Frankie: My official Myspace is www.myspace.com/frankiemunizracing and my Twitter is www.twitter.com/frankiemuniz. The series I’m racing in this season is the Atlantic Championship, go to www.atlantic-championship.com for updated racing information.

Shock Mansion

Shock Mansion: Thanks a lot for your time mate, best of luck with everything!

Frankie: Thank you! I hope to get out to Australia soon for a visit.
