German consumer electronics maker Schaub Lorenz has announced an eco-friendly 40″ white gold and diamond LCD TV, which the company will sell in the Middle East for $130,000, making this blinged-out flat screen the most expensive LCD in the world.
Each Schaub Lorenz gold and diamond LCD is hand-made without welding and screws and can be custom built in a variety of screen sizes. The television screen functions are all activated by feather touch, and the diamonds are all V VS1 brilliant white.
“The eco-friendly TV is made with degradable and reusable components consisting of 47% glass, 3% aluminum and 10% iron, allowing the TV to be 45% more recyclable than a normal TV with many plastic parts,” according to Dr. Jean Shahdadpuri, Director of the Nikai Group of Companies, which will act as the distributor for the gold LCD.
